Meridian Institute of Surgical Assisting believes that everyone deserves the opportunity to receive the highest quality training not influenced by their monetary value.  Meridian promotes Financial Assistance to students that would be depriving themselves if otherwise not available.   Financial Assistance includes direct loans, loans, payment plans, grants, and scholarships.

Financial Assistant can eliminate the lingering worry of how one can afford proper training to excel in the surgical assisting profession.  Meridian has trained experts to assist and customize a plan for you.

Here is what you will need to start the application process for need-based aid.  This excludes State Assistance and Customized Payment Programs:

1^st Step: Fill out Meridian Application

2^nd  step: Visit www.pin.ed.gov this is where you will request a pin, which will be needed to sign the Fafsa Application and also will be needed to fill out Direct Loans Application.

3^rd Step: The Fafsa is used for eligibility amounts of grants and/or Direct Loans
After you request a pin (which should be emailed) you can visit www.fafsa.ed.gov to fill out the application. At this time, you will want to fill out  BOTH 2011-2012 (use your 2010 tax return) FAFSA as well as 2012-2013 (use your 2011 tax return) FAFSA.  After both FAFSA's are filled out you will need to electronically sign it by using your pin.  Note: If you are Dependent you will need your parents tax information instead of yours. 

4^th Step:  There is a THREE DAY processing duration between the time that you apply for a pin number and the time you can apply for Direct Loans.  After filling out the Fafsa you can apply for loans by visiting https://studentloans.gov/myDirectLoan/index.action

• Complete entrance counseling
• Use pin to sign Master Promissory Note (mpn)   

 After completing steps above the Financial Aid Officer will be in contact with you. 

Before graduation, exit counseling must be done by visiting this site.
