Meridian Institute of Surgical Assisting believes that everyone deserves the opportunity to receive the highest quality training not influenced by their monetary value.  Meridian promotes Financial Aid Assistance to students that would be depriving themselves if otherwise not available.   Financial Assistance includes Direct Loans, and Pell Grants.

Here are the steps needed to start the Financial Aid Process at Meridian Institute of Surgical Assisting.

Step 1: Fill out Meridian Application

Step 2: Visit www.pin.ed.gov and request a pin, to sign the FAFSA.  Please keep a record of this, you will need it in the future.

Step 3: The FAFSA is used to determine the eligibility amounts of grants and/or Direct Loans.

After you receive your PIN number you will visit www.FAFSA.ed.govto fill out the application. Currently, you will need your 2012 taxes please complete the 2013-2014 FAFSA.  Note: If you are Dependent you will need both your parent's tax information as well as yours. 

Having your tax return nearby will assist you in utilizing the IRS Retrieval Tool.  Proper filing status and exact address is a must when using this tool.   If this tool is provided you are expected to use it.

Step 4:  After completing the FAFSA you can finalize the required steps by visiting: https://studentloans.gov

·         Complete UNDERGRADUATE entrance counseling

·         Use pin to sign Master Promissory Note (MPN)   

Initial Required Documents: Fax or Scan clear copies of each of the below to The Financial Aid Director at (615) 634-2465:

·        High School Diploma or High School Transcript or GED (these must be signed or stamped by a school official  

·        Social Security Card

·        Driver's License

Step 5:  If you have other school loans you may be able to complete an in school deferment form.   DEFERMENT IS NOT AUTOMACTIC.   Please Contact Celia White if you need more information.
